How can taking Drama classes in high school prepare someone for a future?
Many of our Drama alumni have gone on to do amazing things. Meet some of them below and find out.
CONROE BROOKS
After graduating, Conroe earned a degree in film at San Francisco State University and pursued acting. He has landed roles in television and films such as Ray Donovan, Jane the Virgin, Sons of Anarchy, Modern Family, Graceland, Heroes, 24, Life in Pieces, and Pretty Little Liars. In 2019, Conroe became part of the national touring company of Hamilton.
SUZI SHEPARD
Suzi Shepard serves as the Community Engagement Specialist at Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette and is fortunate to perform on stages around the East Bay!Suzie holds a BA in Theatre Art/Acting and a MS in Recreation and Leisure Studies from San Jose State University. She has served as a Recreation Therapist in various public health settings using drama techniques as a modality for therapeutic outcomes.
MARK PRANZINI
A 1992 graduate, Mark started off in Drama class at PHHS. He did lights for Hello Dolly. He went on to earn a degree in Stage Lighting from Ohlone College. He was a master electrician at Great America before working for Martin lighting and New Dimensions Productions. He has done projects like working and designing shows on Royal Caribbean cruise lines, HBO boxing matches, Press Tours, and designing and running lights for a David Letterman anniversary show. He does freelance work.
QUYEN NGO
Quyen just wrapped filming a short in which she played a Vietnamese-American who rejects her heritage. She’s done an Indie feature film, Scum of the Earth in April 2019. Quyen has guest starred in Episode 8: Permafrost season finale of METRO web series. She finished shooting Amerikan on the site of Manzanar War Relocation Center, one of 10 Japanese Internment Camps during WWII. She was also in Blue Milk, which premiered at the Beverly Hills Film Festival 2018. Quyen lives in LA.
RAY RAYMUNDO
Ray was last seen on the PHHS stage as Edna in the 2013 production of Hairspray and as Ed DeLuca in the 2015 alumni production of A Chorus Line. After graduating, Ray booked the recurring co-star role of a jock on the Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, which led him to move to LA. He has done more than 10 short or independent films and is a member of the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG). Ray will next be seen in the upcoming (2022) feature film Shotgun Wedding starring Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel.
INDY DANG
After wrapping up his high school performing career as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Indy went to the east coast to attend Rhode Island School of Design, where he performed in Spring Awakening as well as wrote and directed films such as Growing Pains and Influence which were selected for the San Jose International Film Festival. Recently Influence has gained attention being picked up by Omeleto, a YouTube channel that showcases short films. Indy also sings and composes music and has produced two albums, Infatuation and Winter.
McKENNA LEE
Mckenna has never lost her love for the stage and has kept her passion alive through music. In 2017 she held a year long residency with Conrad Resorts in the Maldives singing nightly for guests from around the world. Upon returning home, she became lead singer of a Bay Area 80’s cover band titled Careless Whisper (www.carelesswhisper80s.com) - costumes and all! When she’s not singing, Mckenna is behind the camera directing or producing various video projects among several companies.
JILLIAN NGUYEN
After graduating from PHHS, Jillian attended UC Davis studying film. She was the editor, client media director, and producer at Aggie Studios, responsible for re-branding the university. Jillian has also worked for Salesforce, Paramount Pictures and will be part of the Global Marketing division for Sony Pictures.
CECE TRASK
CECE TRASK graduated in 2014 and attended USC School of the Arts. Cece was a member of The Suspenders for 3 years at USC. She wrote and performed in 6 live sketch comedy shows, 2 of which she produced and directed. Since graduating, she’s continued taking classes at The Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings comedy theaters. She’s been writing and filming her own sketch comedy content, Not Spicy Enough, with some other USC grads, and performs improv. Most recently, Cece was cast in a horror-comedy feature movie.
JOSEPH ZINSMAN
Joseph loves the PHHS Drama Program. That’s where he developed his confidence in the Performing Arts to keep pushing in film and TV. He has been in a few TV shows and a handful of National commercials.TV credits include: Pretty Little Liars: Recurring Role as a Doctor ; NCIS, Disney sitcom called I’m In the Band. He has also done commercial work for Target, Home Depot, Kia, Xfinity and print modeling for HP, Samsung, William Sonoma. He lived in Los Angeles for over 10 years but has been back in the Bay Area working both the Los Angeles and San Francisco markets.
MARIA DIAZ
After high school, Maria continued studying acting at San Jose State University, Richard Brander’s School of Acting, Beverly Hills Playhouse, and GG Conservatory. Maria is currently the owner/founder of MC Acting Academy in Los Angeles! Maria has also done over a dozen national commercials, which include, Dr. Pepper, Mc Donald’s, Carl’s Jr, Bally’s Total Fitness, Budweiser, Jack in the Box, & Pepsi, Comcast Xfinity and more! Look for her upcoming 2018 commercial for CROCS starring Drew Barrymore. She has danced with artists such as Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Jordan Knight, P-diddy, Busta Rythms, Brian McKnight, Alicia Keys just to name a few! Besides dancing, she launched her career as an actress guest starring on award winning shows such as Jane the Virgin, The Ghost Whisperer, Lincoln Heights, Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck, The Division, & Strong Medicine and American Horror Story. Her film credits include, Bring it On Again, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, What’s Cooking, The Elian Gonzalez Story, & Hot Chick.
MARIZZA DELGADO
Marizza started pursuing modeling and pageants while attending PHHS. After graduating, Marizza worked on campaigns with L’Oréal, Fenty Beauty, Express, Target, Walmart, Macy’s, and Nylon Magazine- just to name a few. She also walked in New York Fashion Week (NYFW), and has been featured on Vogue Magazine, Runway, Seventeen, and Marie Claire. She is an engineer and is an advocate for women in STEM. In June of 2024, Marizza was crowned Miss New York and will compete in the Miss America pageant.
